Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil fresh details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, places players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.

The game plunges players into a world brimming with jazz, dynamic action, and a compelling noir atmosphere. A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a microtransaction-free experience is noteworthy, particularly within the indie single-player shooter genre.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire’s distinctive aesthetic draws heavily from the rubber hose animation style popular in 1930s cartoons. Players will navigate a city steeped in noir, encountering mobs, gangs, and other nefarious characters. Gameplay features a diverse arsenal of weapons, power-ups, and explosives, all used to thwart corrupt politicians in a city teeming with both chaos and vibrant energy. The game cleverly blends classic FPS mechanics with a humorous twist, evident in its whimsical weaponry, unique health representation, and cartoonish enemies.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for a 2025 launch.
