Nintendo Switch 2: Leak Reveals Potential Logo

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo has surfaced online, potentially confirming the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next-generation console have been circulating since early 2024, when President Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged its existence. A pre-March 2025 unveiling is anticipated, with a launch later in the year.

The timing of the new console's release has been a topic of much speculation since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained largely silent. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, numerous leaks and rumors point towards it. Given the anticipated similar design to the original Switch, a direct sequel branding seems logical.

Comicbook reports a logo leak shared on Bluesky by Necro Felipe of Universo Nintendo. The logo closely resembles the original Switch logo, featuring the stylized Joy-Con controllers above "Nintendo Switch," with the only significant difference being the addition of "2" beside the Joy-Con. This seemingly validates the widely used "Nintendo Switch 2" placeholder name.

Potential Name Confirmation: Switch 2?

Despite the leak, some remain skeptical about the "Nintendo Switch 2" moniker. Nintendo's history includes consoles with names significantly different from their predecessors, the Wii U being a notable example. The Wii U's unconventional name is speculated to have negatively impacted sales, suggesting a more straightforward approach for the Switch successor.

Previous leaks appear to support Felipe's logo and name, but confirmation awaits official announcements. Recent social media activity hints at a potentially imminent reveal, adding further fuel to the speculation. Until Nintendo officially unveils the console, however, all rumors should be treated with caution.
