Nintendo Switch 2: 120fps, 4K Docked

The long-awaited details about Nintendo's rumored Nintendo Switch upgrade have finally been revealed, and the specs are more impressive than many anticipated. The Nintendo Switch 2 not only supports up to 120fps but also boasts 4K resolution when docked, setting a new standard for handheld gaming.

During today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased several key features of the new system. The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with a larger 7.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor, while maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm. This new screen supports a 1080p resolution in handheld mode at up to 120fps and utilizes an LCD screen with HDR capabilities. When docked, the system can impressively handle up to 4K resolution with HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been updated with a magnetic connection system and can be detached using a release button on the back. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are now larger, enhancing the gaming experience when playing in horizontal mode. Additionally, the left and right sticks have been enlarged for better control. A notable feature introduced is the mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also features a more robust and adjustable stand than the original Switch, allowing for various viewing angles. A top USB port is included for external camera connectivity and for charging the system while in tabletop mode.

Furthermore, the Nintendo Switch 2 is equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
