Set in a Seaside Village in the Continent

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is hitting Netflix screens on February 11, 2025, as announced on Netflix Tudum. This animated feature draws its narrative from Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," found in the collection Sword of Destiny.

This captivating film transports viewers to a seaside village embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople. In a refreshing twist, instead of battling typical creatures like Basilisks and Cockatrices, Geralt of Rivia faces off against merpeople, summoned by a kingdom from the Continent to resolve this ancient feud.

The familiar voice of Doug Cockle returns to bring Geralt to life, while Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer of Vengerberg. Christina Wren, known from the Will Trent TV series, joins the cast to voice a new character, Essi Daven.

Andrzej Sapkowski himself serves as the creative consultant, ensuring the film stays true to his vision. The script is penned by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers from the live-action series, with Kang Hei Chul, the storyboard artist from The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directing the film.

Takes Place During Season 1 of The Witcher’s Live-Adaptation Series

Sirens of the Deep slots neatly into the timeline of The Witcher live-action series, occurring between episodes 5 and 6 of season 1. After their dramatic reunion in Rinde during episode 5, "Bottled Appetites," where Geralt and Yennefer free a Djinn, Geralt is commissioned by a kingdom to tackle a monster-related issue along its shores.

Given the geographical closeness of Rinde to the coastlines of Redania and Temeria, the film likely unfolds in this region. Specifically, if adhering to the setting of "A Little Sacrifice," the story may unfold in Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. As the release date approaches, fans eagerly await to see how closely the film will follow the original short story's plot.
