Netflix Unveils Animated Series Set in Clash Gaming Universe

Netflix and Supercell have revealed plans to adapt the Clash video game franchise into an animated series, bringing the vibrant worlds of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale to television screens.

Currently in pre-production, the series will “capture the chaotic spirit of the games,” according to a Netflix press release. The storyline centers on “a bold yet overwhelmed Barbarian who must unite a group of unlikely heroes to protect their village while navigating the hilariously complex dynamics of warfare.”

The official Clash of Clans social media channels joined the excitement, posting, “Prepare your defenses and rally the troops — Clash is coming to @Netflix!” The announcement included a playful teaser video showing Supercell’s developers revealing the project via a group video call. “We’re thrilled to create an animated series featuring your beloved mustachioed Barbarian and his quirky, hog-riding companions. Get ready!”

The Netflix team is eager to reimagine this iconic game for a new medium. “Clash has captivated gamers worldwide for over a decade with its humor, action, and memorable characters, making it ideal for an animated series,” said John Derderian, Netflix’s VP of Animation.

“Collaborating with Supercell’s talented team, Fletcher Moules, and Ron Weiner, we’re infusing the series with the fun, chaos, and heart of the Clash universe. We’re excited for both longtime fans and new viewers to dive into this adventure.”

Netflix’s Clash animated series remains in pre-production, with no confirmed release date yet. The platform continues its strong push into video game adaptations, with standout successes like Arcane, inspired by League of Legends, and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, drawn from Cyberpunk 2077. Other adaptations include Resident Evil, Tekken: Bloodline, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Dragon's Dogma, Dragon Age: Absolution, Castlevania, and more.
