Netflix is teaming up with the creators of the acclaimed video game Sifu to bring its action-packed story to the silver screen. Netflix has enlisted T.S. Nowlin, renowned for his work on the Maze Runner series and Netflix's Project Adam, to write the screenplay. While Derek Kolstad, previously involved in adapting Sifu's narrative, his current role remains unconfirmed.

Adding to the impressive team is Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, and his production company, 87Eleven Entertainment, who will serve as executive producers. Interestingly, Stahelski is also involved in another major video game adaptation: Ghost of Tsushima.

Sifu, released in 2022, was an instant success, surpassing one million copies sold in its first three weeks. The game follows a young martial artist's quest for revenge after their master's murder. Using a mystical pendant that allows resurrection but at the cost of accelerated aging, the protagonist faces perilous challenges in a world filled with danger and mystery.
