Neil Druckmann: No Bets on The Last of Us Part 3

If you're a fan of *The Last of Us* eagerly awaiting news on a potential Part 3, brace yourself for some disappointing news. Neil Druckmann, the series creator, has significantly dampened hopes of a third installment in a recent interview with Variety. The conversation primarily focused on the upcoming *The Last of Us* TV series, but when the topic shifted to the possibility of *The Last of Us Part 3*, Druckmann's response was clear and disheartening:

“I was waiting for this question,” he said with a sigh. “I guess the only thing I would say is don’t bet on there being more of ‘Last of Us.’ This could be it.”

This statement leaves fans wondering whether to take Druckmann at his word. Currently, Naughty Dog is deeply engaged in developing *Intergalactic*, announced at The Game Awards last December. With no release window in sight, it's evident that the studio's focus is firmly on this new project, leaving little room for *The Last of Us Part 3* in the near future. Druckmann might be playing it safe, or perhaps he's genuinely finished with the series. Only time will tell if his stance changes.

For those still hungry for more *The Last of Us*, the television series offers a glimmer of hope. The second season is set to premiere on April 13 on Max. While Druckmann remains uncertain about the number of seasons needed to complete the story of Part 2, an HBO executive suggested in February that four seasons might be the ideal length to fully explore the narrative.
