Marvel Exec: Moon Knight's Return Not a Season 2

Author:Kristen Update:Jan 20,2026

Marvel has confirmed that Moon Knight will make a comeback in the MCU, though a second season of the Disney+ series is not in the works.

In an interview with ComicBook, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum shared that fans can anticipate more of Oscar Isaac’s MCU character—just not in a Season 2 format.

This is due to a strategic shift within Marvel Television since Moon Knight debuted in 2022. Previously, the studio focused on introducing characters through standalone series before integrating them into other projects. For instance, Ms. Marvel brought Kamala Khan into the MCU on Disney+ before her appearance in The Marvels.

Now, Marvel Television is adopting a more traditional television model, aiming for shows with yearly releases.

“Marvel Television has evolved in phases, and Moon Knight was part of a wave intended to establish characters for future crossovers,” Winderbaum explained.

“Looking ahead, our priorities have changed. We're developing series that can stand on their own as annual releases—more in line with conventional television. I would certainly welcome a Moon Knight Season 2, but we do have plans for the character down the line.”

While Isaac voiced Moon Knight in the third and final season of Disney+’s animated series Marvel’s What If…?, there's no update yet regarding his live-action return.

The MCU’s confirmed upcoming TV lineup includes Daredevil: Born Again in March, Ironheart in June, Eyes of Wakanda in August, Marvel Zombies in October, and Wonder Man in December.

Last week, Marvel Television reportedly paused production on three series: Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. However, Winderbaum confirmed the studio is looking into opportunities to reunite street-level heroes like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist—better known as The Defenders.
