MGS Master Collection Vol. 2: MGS4's Next-Gen Debut?

MGS4 PS5 & Xbox Port Teased by Konami, Potentially Marking First Time It's Playable Outside of PS3In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura subtly acknowledged the fervent fan desire for a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake and its release on modern consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC). While avoiding concrete details, Okamura's comments regarding Master Collection Vol. 1 (containing MGS 1-3) strongly suggest MGS4's potential inclusion in the upcoming Volume 2. He stated that Konami is "internally concerned about what we should be doing for the future of the series," hinting at ongoing discussions about the game's future.

MGS4 PS5 & Xbox Port Teased by Konami, Potentially Marking First Time It's Playable Outside of PS3The PS3 exclusive status of MGS4 has long fueled fan hopes for a port or remake. The success of Master Collection Vol. 1, released last year, further strengthens the likelihood of MGS4 joining its predecessors on next-gen platforms, including PC and Switch.

Further fueling the speculation are placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker that appeared on Konami's official timeline, as reported by IGN. These listings strongly suggest these titles are candidates for Master Collection Vol. 2. Adding to the intrigue, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media last November.

Despite the mounting evidence, Konami remains officially silent on the details of Master Collection Vol. 2 and any MGS4 remake plans. The wait continues.
