"Metro Quester: Kemco's Fresh Release Diverges from Norm"

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 23,2025

Whenever I write about Kemco, I find it both invariably welcome and fairly predictable. Their releases of JRPGs from across the pond tend to be high-quality but often hit those high-fantasy, melodramatic notes. However, their newest upcoming release, Metro Quester, caught my eye for how it defies those conventions, and it's set to launch on April 21st, with pre-registration now open!

In Metro Quester, you'll delve into a unique dungeon-crawling RPG experience. Unlike typical games where you might explore above ground and then venture into ruins, Metro Quester immerses you in a post-apocalyptic, Glukhovky-esque future where you're trapped underground, navigating the ancient metro lines of a bygone era.

The game boasts character designs from Kazushi Hagiwara, known for works like Bastard!! The Dark God of Destruction, along with contributions from other talented artists. This collaboration promises a high-quality, albeit dark and gloomy, world for players to explore.

Kemco stands out

I was genuinely pleased to see Metro Quester in my inbox. This promises to be a standout offering in Kemco's catalogue, thanks to its blend of a dark world and retro top-down dungeon crawling. If you're concerned about content, rest assured: Metro Quester features 24 characters, 8 classes, customizable weapons, a comprehensive bestiary, and much more.

Admittedly, Metro Quester retains that familiar anime style. Yet, I hardly think many of you will find it objectionable. If you're seeking something new and intriguing to enhance your JRPG obsession, keep an eye out for when Metro Quester hits storefronts on April 21st!
