Wylder is a versatile and balanced character, making him an ideal choice for newcomers. His Sixth Sense passive ability grants him a second chance, allowing him to survive a single fatal blow. As a generalist, he is competent with most martial weapons without specializing in any single type, though he favors the Greatsword.

The Guardian serves as Nightreign's dedicated tank. He is most effective with a large shield and weapons usable while guarding, such as Halberds, Rapiers, or Hand Crossbows. While his damage output is lower than other Nightfarers, his exceptional durability and numerous crowd-control abilities make him a formidable protector.

Ironeye is a master of the bow, and his high Dexterity also makes him proficient with agile melee weapons like daggers and curved swords. However, his low durability means he's not suited for the front lines, so melee combat should be approached with care. His straightforward abilities provide a smooth learning curve, perfect for beginners.

The Duchess is an evasive Nightfarer who wields daggers, skillfully darting in and out of combat. Her starting weapon includes a powerful character skill that imbues her blade with Magic affinity for increased damage. With high intelligence, she can cast Glintstone Sorceries effectively, and her decent Faith scaling allows for the use of Incantations. For the Duchess, seek out weapons with Magic or Frost affinity and those that can inflict statuses like Frostbite or Blood Loss.

The Raider boasts high Strength, enabling him to wield massive, colossal weapons to crush his enemies. While proficient with various martial arms, his extremely low FP restricts the use of weapon skills. His inherent poise makes him hard to stagger, ensuring his powerful attacks consistently connect.

The Revenant is a support-focused class whose high Faith allows her to wield offensive Incantations effectively. Her direct damage potential is limited due to the lack of FP recovery. Her passive ability summons spectral allies from fallen enemies to fight alongside you, distracting foes and dealing damage.
Revenant Character Guide

The Recluse is a specialized spellcaster whose character skill can restore FP, allowing her to unleash devastation from a distance. Her stats favor Sorceries and Incantations, and she can effectively use weapons with Magic, Frost, Fire, Holy, or Lightning affinity. She presents a higher skill ceiling due to limited defensive options and the need to manage FP alongside Health and Stamina. Mastery is rewarded with tremendous damage output.

The Executor thrives in one-on-one combat. With high Dexterity and Arcane, he can wield most of the game's lighter weapons, with Katanas being a particularly strong choice due to their Dexterity scaling and ability to inflict Blood Loss. Careful positioning is essential as he possesses low durability.

The Limveld map is densely populated with points of interest to discover. Maxroll’s Limveld Map & Key Locations guide details the various encounters, the types of enemies you'll face, and the rewards for overcoming them.
While exploring, you may trigger random Raid Events, often involving a tough enemy. Successfully clearing a raid grants a valuable Power for the rest of your run; find out more in Maxroll’s Raid Events guide.
Vanquishing Nightlords unlocks Shifting Earth events. These events transform a map quadrant into a unique area, usually packed with bosses to defeat—completing them awards a special power, similar to Raid Events. Learn more with Maxroll’s Shifting Earth event guide.

Discover Roundtable Hold, Nightreign's central hub. Here, you can switch characters, perform Relic Rites to prepare for your next expedition, test builds in the Sparring Ground, consult the Visual Codex, follow your character's story in the Journal, and depart from the Table of Lost Grace to challenge a Nightlord. Explore all these features in Maxroll's Roundtable Hold guide.
Relics and Vessels form the core of Nightreign's metaprogression. After each run, you earn Relics and Murk to spend at the Small Jar Bazaar. Some Relics have random affixes of variable usefulness, while others—typically earned via character quests or boss defeats—have fixed, powerful stats. Progressing unlocks additional Vessels, letting you equip different Relic combinations on your Nightfarer. Delve deeper into this system with Maxroll’s Relics and Vessels guide.
Many Sorceries and Incantations in Nightreign belong to specific Spell Schools, which dictate the modifiers that enhance them. For instance, a Glintstone Sorcery won't benefit from bonuses to Godslayer Incantations. This mechanic isn't thoroughly explained, so for insights on maximizing your spell damage, consult Maxroll’s Sorcery and Incantation School Guide.

Explore Maxroll’s Elden Ring Nightreign Database for extensive information on the game's Weapons, skills, spells, Relics, Vessels, Relic modifiers, Talismans, passive traits, and Nightfarers. Each item features a detailed page with expanded tooltips, helping you uncover hidden weapon secrets or simply enjoy fascinating lore snippets.
Armaments include Daggers, Swords, Thrusting Swords, Curved Swords, Axes, Hammers, Spears, Halberds, Staves, Seals, Fist Weapons, Bows, Crossbows, and off-hand items. Skills are weapon arts that consume FP for additional effects. Sorceries and Incantations provide buffs, healing, and devastating offensive capabilities. Vessels and Relics drive the metaprogression. Talismans, found during a run, grant minor bonuses. Weapon Passives and Passive Character Traits operate like boons in traditional roguelikes, providing temporary power boosts during an expedition.
