In *Monster Hunter Wilds*, monsters typically dwell in the wilderness, but occasionally, they venture into villages, causing havoc. One such beast is the rampaging Alpha Doshaguma, which you'll need to confront head-on. This guide will help you navigate the challenge of defeating and capturing this formidable foe.
Known Habitats – Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Ruins of Wyveria
Breakable Parts – Tail and Forelegs
Recommended Elemental Attack – Fire and Lightning
Effective Status Effects – Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (2x), Blastblight (2x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
Effective Items – Flash Pod, Shock Trap, Pitfall Trap
Despite its massive size, Doshaguma is incredibly agile, capable of jumping and dashing around the arena. This makes it challenging, especially for melee weapon users. To counter this, deploy a Flash Pod to temporarily stun the monster. This blinding effect lasts several seconds, giving you an opportunity to attack or even mount the creature.
Focus your attacks on Doshaguma's legs. The forelegs are particularly vulnerable, boasting a 3-star weakness. The back legs, with a 2-star weakness, are less effective targets. Additionally, the head is another prime target with a 3-star weakness. While less damaging, the tail can also be broken, yielding valuable parts.
In your battle against Doshaguma, leverage fire and lightning elements for maximum impact. Bowgun users should equip Flaming and Thunder ammo, while melee users can enhance their weapons with fire-related decorations. Aim for the head and torso when using fire, and target the head specifically with lightning attacks.
Doshaguma can inflict Blastblight, a status ailment that can lead to an explosion if not addressed. Counter this by consuming a Nulberry or using Deodorant. Alternatively, dodge-rolling three times can also remove the effect.
Don't overlook the environment; the areas where Doshaguma roams are often littered with natural traps. Sheath your weapon and use your slinger to activate these traps when the monster is positioned directly beneath them.

Capturing Doshaguma alive is another option in Monster Hunter Wilds. To do so, weaken the monster until its HP drops to 20 percent or below. Set a Shock or Pitfall Trap nearby, and lure Doshaguma onto it. If it's not focused on you, use Luring Ammo or meat as bait. Once trapped, quickly shoot tranquilizers until the monster falls asleep.
That's all the information you need to effectively hunt and capture Doshaguma in Monster Hunter Wilds. Remember to eat a hearty meal before the battle to benefit from food buffs.
