In the Marvel Rivals files, dataminers have found a fight with a kraken and a new mode

Data miner X0X_Leaks uncovered evidence within the Marvel Rivals game files hinting at a forthcoming PvE mode featuring a kraken boss. While the kraken model boasts some animations, high-resolution textures are currently absent. The dataminer showcased a size-based approximation of the kraken in-game to illustrate its potential appearance.

Marvel Rivals also detailed its significant Spring Festival event, commencing this Thursday. This event introduces a unique three-player team-based game mode, "Clash of Dancing Lions," where players compete to score a ball into the opposing team's goal, and offers a free Star-Lord costume.

This game mode bears a striking resemblance to Overwatch's Lucioball, itself inspired by Rocket League. This similarity is noteworthy, considering Marvel Rivals' apparent attempt to establish a unique identity separate from Overwatch, particularly given its current apparent market dominance. However, the initial major event utilizes a game mode strikingly similar to Overwatch's inaugural special event. The key difference lies in the thematic approach: Marvel Rivals leans into a strong Chinese cultural influence, unlike Overwatch's Olympic Games theme.
