Lara Croft Embarks on a Spine-Chilling Escapade in Dead by Daylight

Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the cast of Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive announced. This highly anticipated addition follows recent chapters featuring Vecna (Stranger Things), Chucky (Child's Play), and Alan Wake. Lara Croft's arrival in Dead by Daylight was long speculated, but now confirmed.

Dead by Daylight players can expect Lara Croft on all platforms July 16th, with early access for PC players via a Steam public test build. While an official release date is set, a gameplay trailer showcasing Lara's unique skills and perks remains unreleased, making PC players the first to experience her in action. Behaviour Interactive describes her as "the ultimate survivor," fitting given her history of perilous adventures. Her in-game model will be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.

Lara Croft's Dead by Daylight Debut - July 16th

Behaviour Interactive's Dead by Daylight 8th-anniversary livestream also revealed other exciting updates: a new 2v8 mode (two Killers against eight Survivors), a collaboration with Supermassive Games featuring Frank Stone, and a new Castlevania chapter later this year.

The announcement coincides with renewed interest in the original Tomb Raider games. Aspyr recently released a remastered collection of the first three Tomb Raider games, and Tomb Raider: Legend received a PS5 port (though reception has been mixed). Adding to Lara's resurgence, a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, starring Hayley Atwell as Lara's voice, is set for October 2024.
