Krysten Ritter Confirmed to Reprise Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors that more Netflix Defenders might soon join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter, joined by Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

View 26 ImagesRitter first brought Jessica Jones to life in 2015 with the premiere of Season 1 on Netflix. The series continued with two more seasons and the crossover event The Defenders. However, as Netflix’s era of original Marvel content drew to a close, hopes of seeing Ritter reprise her role dimmed—until Disney regained the rights to these characters in 2021.

With Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, fans began to hope for the return of other beloved Netflix characters. The inclusion of Punisher in Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again set the stage for Ritter's return in Season 2.

Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront suggest that fans can look forward to more of Jessica Jones in the MCU's future, starting with her role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet revealed a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that the new season will premiere in March 2026.
