A Knight of Decay: Xbox Brings Avowed’s Plague to London

A decaying knight statue, its armor consumed by unsettling, real-world fungi, has materialized in London – a chilling premonition of the plague sweeping Avowed's realm. This striking installation, crafted by Xbox, functions as both artwork and portent, plunging onlookers into the game's grim Dreamscourge reality. Accompanying posters advertising Avowed for Xbox Series X|S complete the immersive street scene, transforming an ordinary London location into a gateway to Avowed's world.

Xbox has released a behind-the-scenes YouTube video, offering fans an intimate view of this unique promotional endeavor's creation.

Pre-launch Steam reviews for Avowed's Deluxe Edition boast an impressive 81% positive rating, generating significant anticipation for today's Standard Edition release.

Gaming expert Jason Schreier lauded Avowed, highlighting its world design, narrative, and combat – but particularly its exploration:

"Avowed has captivated me. Obsidian's storytelling and combat are predictably excellent, but the world design truly shines. Every path leads somewhere, every rooftop is accessible, and hidden details abound. Even after 40 hours, I'm still exploring."

Schreier also acknowledged a critical divide mirroring Fallout: New Vegas:

"Certain reviews surprise me. It's reminiscent of Fallout: New Vegas – critics were divided, yet players elevated it to legendary status. Avowed might follow a similar trajectory."

Fallout: New Vegas, initially scoring 83 on Metacritic, later achieved undisputed classic status. Could Avowed be destined for a comparable ascent to RPG immortality?
