Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a substantial free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II—version 1.2. This update brings two exciting features to the game: native mod integration through Steam Workshop and a fresh barber shop system that enhances player customization.

The integration of Steam Workshop into Kingdom Come: Deliverance II revolutionizes modding by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game. This eliminates the hassle of using third-party platforms. However, this feature hinges on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, the mod selection is limited but includes intriguing options such as:

  • Free Saving: This mod replenishes the "Saviour Schnapps" item each time it's used or lost, granting players unlimited saves.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a historically inspired horned helmet to the game.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing players to explore restricted story locations freely.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

Although the initial mod offerings are modest, the modding community is poised for rapid growth. With over a thousand mods already available on Nexus Mods, many creators are expected to share their work on Steam Workshop as well. While it may not match the scale of Nexus Mods, popular mods will undoubtedly find their way to Steam Workshop soon.

Alongside mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to alter their hairstyle or beard. Any chosen style will temporarily boost the protagonist's Charisma stat, adding a new layer of strategic gameplay.

Update 1.2 extends far beyond these headline features. The extensive changelog, available on the game’s official website, outlines over a thousand fixes and improvements affecting nearly every aspect of the game. These include balance adjustments, refined animations, and enhanced NPC behaviors. The crime system, for example, has been fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Additional noteworthy updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, enhancing realism.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and performance, especially in Kuttenberg, the largest city in the game, and during large-scale battles.

Warhorse Studios plans to explore these changes in depth during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. The studio's commitment to supporting Kingdom Come: Deliverance II remains strong, with three paid DLC expansions slated for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the addition of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a multitude of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, providing players with an ever-richer medieval experience.
