Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month

Author:Kristen Update:May 20,2025

As you prepare for the Sweet Discoveries event, get ready for the regal excitement of the upcoming Crown Clash event in Pokémon Go, scheduled from May 10th to 18th. This event promises a royal experience with the debut of Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, and the introduction of costumed variants of Nidoqueen and Nidoking sporting shiny new crowns. Not only will you have the chance to evolve Kingambit and hunt for these crowned royals, but you'll also be able to collect a plethora of rewards, including bonus XP for evolving your Pokémon.

To evolve Bisharp into Kingambit, you'll need to make Bisharp your buddy and defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. Don't worry, Bisharp doesn't need to battle; just bring it along and tally those victories. Alongside Kingambit, Nidoqueen and Nidoking will dazzle in their new crowns, potentially appearing in their Shiny forms. These royal Pokémon will be featured in three-star raids, while one-star raids will showcase Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.

The wild will be bustling during Crown Clash, with frequent spawns of Pokémon such as Slowpoke (which may carry a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Keep an eye out for Pawniard, which will appear more often if luck is on your side.

With double XP for evolving Pokémon, now is the perfect time to tackle your evolution backlog. Engage in event-themed Field Research tasks and the catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge to earn additional XP, Stardust, and another opportunity to catch Pawniard. Trainers at Level 31 and above can look forward to guaranteed Candy XL for their evolutions upon completing the challenge.

Don't miss out on the event-themed Showcases at PokéStops, where you can display your crown-worthy catches. Additionally, the Pokémon Go Web Store will offer special deals to help you gear up for this royal event.
