The latest gameplay trailer for The First Berserker: Khazan, unveiled during IGN Fan Fest on February 27, 2025, offers fans a glimpse into the challenging boss encounters awaiting them. South Korean developer Neople introduced a trailer featuring Khazan battling an intriguing umbrella-wielding boss alongside two other formidable beasts.

The trailer teases a significant role for the umbrella-wielding boss, possibly within the main storyline, as evidenced by a brief cutscene preceding the battle. Although the HUD wasn't visible during the fight, limiting detailed insights, the identities of the other two bosses were revealed: Shactuka, a wolf-like creature, and the Specter of Bhangau, a ram-like beast wielding a hammer and spike.

Possible Awakened Form

An exciting highlight from the trailer is Khazan's apparent transformation into an awakened form, shifting from his usual samurai-like appearance to a more intense, armored version with a striking red glow. This new form not only changes Khazan's look but also enhances his combat capabilities, enabling him to wield a variety of weapons and execute devastating attacks.

The trailer demonstrates Khazan's adeptness at the game's combat mechanics, including blocking enemy projectiles, executing parries, and unleashing rapid combos. However, the effectiveness of Khazan's attacks against the bosses appears limited, emphasizing the game's challenging, Souls-like nature. While the developers have not officially detailed this awakened form, the trailer suggests it will be a key mechanic for dealing significant damage and executing powerful combos.

The First Berserker: Khazan offers a free demo on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, allowing players to experience the first two missions. The full game is slated for release on March 27, 2025, across the same platforms.
