J.C. Lee Denies Elder Abuse Claims Against Her

Author:Kristen Update:May 07,2025

In a recent interview with Business Insider, J.C. Lee, daughter of the iconic Marvel creator Stan Lee, has publicly addressed and denied previous allegations of elder abuse against both her father and her late mother, Joan. The allegations, which surfaced in 2017 after Joan's passing and were highlighted in a detailed 2018 report by The Hollywood Reporter (THR), claimed that J.C. Lee pressured her parents for money and control over assets. The THR piece painted a volatile picture, alleging frequent verbal confrontations and at least one physical altercation, supported by photos of a bruise on Joan Lee’s arm.

J.C. Lee firmly refutes these claims in her Business Insider interview, calling them "a lie." She explains that she did not issue a public denial at the time of the THR article due to advice from those around her, a decision she now regrets. "You think I haven't regretted it to this day?" she remarked, emphasizing the falsehood of the accusations and the photo evidence. While acknowledging heated arguments over financial matters, J.C. Lee insists that these disputes never escalated to physical violence. "I never ever touched my parents," she stated.

Stan Lee passed away in 2018 at the age of 95 due to a heart attack. The comprehensive Business Insider interview delves into J.C. Lee's experiences growing up under the shadow of her father's fame, her financial struggles, feelings of manipulation and loneliness, her creative pursuits, and the challenges of carrying on her father's legacy.
