New Images and Details Revealed for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris; Construction Begins Soon

Author:Kristen Update:May 03,2025

Exciting news for Disney fans: Disneyland Paris is set to introduce the first-ever land and attraction themed to *The Lion King*, set to commence construction in Fall 2025. This thrilling addition will be a highlight of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be known as Disney Adventure World. Guests can look forward to an immersive water ride that will take them through iconic scenes from the beloved 1994 film. The land will feature a striking 120-foot-high Pride Rock, along with extensive dining, shopping opportunities, character meet-and-greets, and more.

The Lion King Ride Concept ImageDisney has unveiled a new concept image for the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal in a lush jungle environment. This scene is just one part of the ride experience, which will also feature an exhilarating 52-foot drop, slightly taller than Tiana's Bayou Adventure.

While an exact opening date hasn't been announced, the ride will open following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will contribute to the expansion of Disney Adventure World, which will double the current size of the park.

In addition to the *The Lion King* attraction, Disney Adventure World will feature other exciting additions. These include the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin ride, where Mandy Moore will reprise her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever attraction inspired by *Up*, offering a "spinning carousel" experience with panoramic views of the park's beautiful landscapes.

World Premiere Concept ImageThe park's new entrance, World Premiere, will open on May 15, 2025, aiming to recreate the glamour of a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to this, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and the West End, will host theaters showcasing performances such as *TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure*, *Mickey and the Magician*, and *Frozen: A Musical Invitation*.
