Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Phainon From Amphoreus

Author:Kristen Update:Dec 24,2024

Honkai: Star Rail's upcoming character, Phainon, may have a dual existence: a playable character and an Elite boss. This intriguing leak, originating from HomDGCat on Reddit, suggests Phainon will appear in two forms – his standard form and a boss form called Demiurge. This follows a pattern seen with other characters, such as Argenti and Kafka, who retain the same model in both their playable and boss iterations. Conversely, other characters, like Sunday, undergo a complete transformation between their playable and boss forms.

The introduction of Phainon is tied to the upcoming Amphoreus arc in Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0, introducing the Crysos Heirs faction. Previous leaks indicated Phainon, along with other Crysos Heirs, would eventually become 5-star playable characters. The leak, however, suggests a more complex role.

The mystery surrounding Phainon's identity is further fueled by his striking resemblance to Kevin Kaslana from Honkai Impact 3rd, leading to speculation about a connection or even an "Expys" relationship (counterparts in HoYoverse's multiverse). Further adding to the intrigue, the Amphoreus trailer refers to Phainon's "grand mission of deliverance," echoing Kevin Kaslana's codename.

While Phainon's playability is slated for a later patch, another Crysos Heir, Aglaea, a 5-star Remembrance unit, will debut alongside Herta in Version 3.0. The Amphoreus chapter arrives in January 2025, promising an exciting addition to the Honkai: Star Rail universe.
