The Herta is a powerful 5-star Ice Erudition character in Honkai: Star Rail, excelling with strong self-buffs and damage multipliers. As a damage dealer, she prioritizes CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and ATK, along with general damage boosts from her Light Cones. Her inherent 80% CRIT DMG buff makes CRIT Rate a key focus. Improvements to her Skill and Ultimate damage are also highly valuable due to her Interpretation mechanic, especially Skill DMG.

While the ideal combination of CRIT Rate and Skill DMG is rare outside her signature Light Cone, many viable options exist within the Erudition path, both limited and free. These offer comparable effectiveness. Below are the best Light Cone options for The Herta in Honkai: Star Rail.

The Seriousness of Breakfast (S5)

Increases the wearer's DMG by 24%. For every defeated enemy, the wearer's ATK increases by 8%, stacking up to 3 times.

The Seriousness of Breakfast is a free Light Cone obtainable via Lucent Afterglow or Echo of War drops, or from a hidden Herta Space Station task. While not optimal, it provides straightforward damage boosts, serving as a suitable placeholder for early-game players.

The Day The Cosmos Fell (S5)

Increases the wearer's ATK by 24%. When the wearer attacks and affects at least 2 enemies with a Weakness, their CRIT DMG increases by 40% for 2 turns.

Also free (Lucent Afterglow, Echo of War, or Golden Hour Origami Birds), this Light Cone offers slightly better performance than The Seriousness of Breakfast, but its effectiveness depends on consistently maintaining its conditional CRIT DMG buff. A viable placeholder, but less reliable.

Eternal Calculus (S5)

Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. After an attack, ATK increases by 8% per enemy hit (stacks 5 times, lasts until the next attack). Hitting 3 or more enemies grants a 16% SPD increase for 1 turn.

A free 5-star Light Cone from Herta's Store (Herta Bonds). Offers a substantial ATK% boost, but its effectiveness varies with the number of enemies. Solid when fully utilized, and the SPD increase can be beneficial. A decent placeholder.

Yet Hope Is Priceless (S1)

Increases CRIT Rate by 16%. For every 20% of CRIT DMG exceeding 120%, follow-up attack DMG increases by 12% (stacks 4 times). At battle start or after a Basic ATK/Ultimate use, ignores 20% of target DEF for 2 turns.

Jade's signature Light Cone. Provides a useful 16% CRIT Rate increase. The Herta doesn't benefit from the follow-up attack buffs, making it a simple stat stick. The DEF penetration is situational. Avoid pulling specifically for The Herta; free options often perform similarly.

Geniuses' Repose (S5)

Increases ATK by 32%. When defeating an enemy, CRIT DMG increases by 48% for 3 turns.

A great 4-star Light Cone from the standard Stellar Warp. Offers a significant ATK increase and a CRIT DMG boost. The CRIT DMG buff is easily maintained in most situations but less effective against single bosses without summons.

An Instant Before A Gaze (S1)

Increases CRIT DMG by 36%. Ultimate DMG increases by 0.36% per point of Energy (up to 180 Energy).

Argenti's signature Light Cone. Provides a substantial CRIT DMG increase and a valuable Ultimate DMG boost. However, The Herta prefers Skill DMG or general DMG boosts, limiting its overall ranking. Avoid pulling specifically for The Herta.

Before Dawn (S1)

Increases CRIT DMG by 36% and Skill/Ultimate DMG by 18%. After using a Skill or Ultimate, grants Somnus Corpus; consuming it increases follow-up attack DMG by 48%.

Jing Yuan's signature Light Cone. Provides excellent unconditional stats. The Herta doesn't benefit from the follow-up attack buff, but the CRIT DMG and Skill/Ultimate DMG boosts are highly valuable.

Today Is Another Peaceful Day (S5)

An outstanding 4-star Light Cone providing a substantial unconditional damage boost. The Herta maximizes this effect due to her high Energy cost. It also has high base ATK, making it an excellent F2P option.

Night on the Milky Way (S1)

Increases ATK by 9% per enemy (up to 5 stacks). When an enemy is inflicted with Weakness Break, DMG increases by 30% for 1 turn.

A strong 5-star option from the standard Stellar Warp. Can perform exceptionally well with consistent effect maintenance. Its effectiveness diminishes with fewer enemies.

Into the Unreachable Veil (S1)

Increases CRIT Rate by 12%. When using an Ultimate, increases Skill and Ultimate DMG by 60% for 3 turns. If the Ultimate consumed 140+ Energy, recovers 1 Skill Point.

The Herta's signature Light Cone, her best-in-slot option. Offers significant CRIT Rate and damage boosts to both Skill and Ultimate. The Skill Point recovery is exceptionally valuable. Boasts the highest ATK stat among Erudition Light Cones.
