GTA V Enhanced: A Visual Journey Over a Decade

The highly anticipated PC release of Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced, Rockstar's next-gen update of the iconic open-world game, is now available. This new version offers substantial graphical upgrades and introduces features such as full DualSense controller support, providing an enriched experience for PC gamers.

Key enhancements include ray-traced reflections, updated vehicle designs, and various minor adjustments that significantly boost the game's visual quality. The popular YouTube channel GameV has released a side-by-side comparison video that demonstrates the graphical evolution from the original release over the last 12 years. The improvements are particularly striking during rainy nights or in darker settings, where advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections make a notable impact. However, under sunny conditions, the differences between the original and enhanced versions are less noticeable.

Despite a strong launch with over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard edition, the game has received mixed reviews. Currently, it holds a 56% positive review rating on Steam. Some players question the value of the update due to the relatively modest visual enhancements. Additionally, there have been complaints about issues with DualSense controller functionality and glitches when transferring characters from the original GTA Online. While some users have reported successful transfers, others are still encountering ongoing bugs.
