Lanterns, a detective drama drawing inspiration from shows like True Detective and Slow Horses, will follow Jordan and Stewart as they investigate a murder that unravels into a far more sinister conspiracy. This series is officially part of James Gunn's revamped DC Universe, alongside projects like Creature Commandos and the upcoming films Superman: Legacy and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Developed by Damon Lindelof (Lost), Chris Mundy, and Tom King, Lanterns promises a darker, grittier tone. Gunn describes it as "very grounded, very believable, very real," a stark contrast to typical Green Lantern portrayals.

Chandler, known for his role in Friday Night Lights, will portray an older Hal Jordan. Aaron Pierre, whose credits include Rebel Ridge, joins him as John Stewart. The series is currently aiming for a 2026 premiere, coinciding with the release of the Supergirl movie.
