Sony and game developer Santa Monica Studio have unveiled the exciting Dark Odyssey collection, an upcoming update for God of War Ragnarök set to launch next week. This free update, arriving on March 20, brings a suite of in-game equipment inspired by one of the franchise's most iconic outfits, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the God of War series.

Detailed in a PlayStation.Blog post, the Dark Odyssey collection is a highlight of Sony's anniversary plans, offering a range of cosmetic enhancements for all God of War Ragnarök players on PlayStation 5 and PC. The update introduces a sleek black-and-gold aesthetic, enhancing the visual appeal of Kratos, Atreus, and Freya as they navigate the realms of Norse mythology. Players can look forward to new cosmetic sets for Atreus and Freya, along with a variety of stylish options for shields and weapons.

The centerpiece of the Dark Odyssey update is a special appearance and armor set for Kratos, reminiscent of a skin originally awarded to players who conquered God of War 2 on God Mode difficulty. This coveted set, including the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Bracers, and Belt, can be claimed from any Lost Items chest in the base game or directly in the roguelike Valhalla mode post-update. Additionally, the update will allow players to customize the appearance of Kratos' weapons without affecting their abilities, adding a new layer of personalization to the gameplay experience.
