Back to the Future Fans Wanting a Fourth Film? 'F**k You,' Says Co-Creator

Bob Gale, co-creator of the beloved Back to the Future trilogy, delivered a blunt message to fans yearning for a fourth installment: "F*** you."

In a candid interview with Yahoo, Gale, who penned all three films alongside Robert Zemeckis, emphatically stated there are absolutely no plans for a continuation of the franchise's established storyline. Responding to persistent inquiries about a Back to the Future 4, Gale, speaking backstage at the Saturn Awards, declared, "People always say, ‘When are you going to do Back to the Future 4,’ and we say, ‘F*** you.’"

While Hollywood frequently revisits classic franchises with reboots and sequels, often with mixed results (consider the less-than-stellar reception of The Matrix Resurrections and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny), Back to the Future will, ironically, remain firmly rooted in its past.

The original 1985 film, featuring high schooler Marty McFly's accidental time travel escapade with the eccentric Doc Brown, cemented its place as a sci-fi classic. However, its sequels, released in 1989 and 1990, didn't achieve the same critical acclaim.

Despite a three-decade absence from the big screen, the Back to the Future legacy endures. Its influence on cinema is undeniable, and the franchise has even extended to a Broadway musical. Gale revealed plans for a stage production destined for Royal Caribbean Cruises and hinted at collaborating with Michael J. Fox on a book detailing Fox's experiences with the iconic role.
