Fortnite Reverses Controversial Skin Decision

The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a popular Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, this joyous reunion was briefly marred by a controversy.

The original Master Chief skin included a special Matte Black style, initially exclusive to players using Xbox Series S|X consoles. For a considerable period, Epic Games advertised this style as permanently obtainable. The unexpected announcement of its removal, therefore, caused significant backlash from the community.

Some players believed this action violated consumer protection laws and even began organizing a potential class-action lawsuit. Remarkably, Epic Games reversed its decision within 24 hours. The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single game on an Xbox Series S|X.

This reversal appears to be the most prudent course of action. Given the festive Christmas season, such a controversial move risked significantly souring the holiday spirit for many players.
