Fortnite has triumphantly returned to the U.S. Apple App Store, thrilling iPhone and iPad users who have eagerly awaited its comeback for five years. Epic Games, the developer behind the iconic battle royale game, celebrated this milestone with an enthusiastic post on X/Twitter. The announcement allows mobile gaming enthusiasts to dive back into the action-packed world of Fortnite. The iOS store page for Fortnite looks just as it did back in 2020, but now sports an exciting new message: "Fortnite is back!"

At the time of this article's publication, some U.S. Apple users might still face challenges finding Fortnite through the App Store's search function, but Epic assures that visibility will improve "soon." In the interim, you can directly access its revived store page by clicking here. Meanwhile, players in the E.U. can now enjoy Fortnite via the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
The return of Fortnite to iOS devices marks a significant resolution to the contentious saga between Epic Games and Apple. The conflict began in August 2020 when both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their digital stores after Epic introduced an update that lowered the price of V-Bucks and implemented a direct payment system. Epic justified this move as a response to what it deemed "exorbitant" fees charged by Apple and Google.
This sparked a prolonged legal battle that kept Fortnite off official storefronts, leaving millions of players without access on their Apple and Google devices. The situation took a turn in April when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced Fortnite's return to the iOS App Store in early May, following a ruling from a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Despite a last-minute hiccup due to Apple's continued blocking, Fortnite has now made its much-anticipated return to iOS after a five-year hiatus.
Players who download Fortnite on their Apple devices can now opt to purchase V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, those choosing the 2,800 V-Bucks pack for $22.99 can send the payment directly to Epic, receiving a 20% rebate, equivalent to $4.60, to use on other Epic offerings.

This led to the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) filing an unfair labor practice charge against Epic just yesterday.
