A PlayStation studio, recently formed from former Bungie employees, is developing a MOBA tentatively titled "Gummy Bears." Initially conceived at Bungie, this project, reportedly in development since at least 2022, has undergone a significant shift.
The game, described as having a "cozy, vibrant, and lo-fi" aesthetic, notably deviates from Bungie's previous titles. Instead of traditional health bars, Gummy Bears will utilize a percentage-based damage system akin to Super Smash Bros., where high damage results in characters being knocked off the map. This, along with the planned inclusion of Attack, Defense, and Support character classes and multiple game modes, suggests a target audience younger than Bungie's typical player base.
While the game's release date remains uncertain, the transition to a new PlayStation studio indicates continued development and a potential future release on PlayStation platforms. The project's current development stage remains undisclosed. The approximately 40-person team at the new studio has assumed responsibility for Gummy Bears' completion.
