0$7.99 at TCGPlayerThe Through the Ages cards, unlike those in the main set, do not become legal in Magic's Standard format. However, if the original card was already legal, these alternate art versions will be as well. You can find these cards in both the premium Collector Boosters and in one out of every three regular Play Boosters, which are perfect for Limited events like Draft and Sealed.

For those planning to dive deep into this set, whether at your local game store or digitally on platforms like Magic: The Gathering Arena, you'll encounter these cards frequently. Five of the six cards showcased are Rares, meaning they'll be less common, but Thrum of the Vestige, an Uncommon, is a reskin of the iconic Lightning Bolt and is likely to make a significant impact on the set.

PlayThe Warrior of Light's reprint of Jodah, the Unifier, is poised to be a fan favorite. Jodah is a powerful and popular Commander, and the artwork here is Yoshitaka Amano's from the original Final Fantasy's Japanese boxart. Similarly, Amano's iconic illustration of Cecil Harvey from Final Fantasy 4 has been beautifully repurposed for Tymna the Weaver, one of Magic's strongest partner commanders, which has been reprinted only once before.

These cards will be available in physical form as part of the larger Final Fantasy set on June 13, while digital versions will launch on MTG Arena and MTGO on June 10. Even if you're a Final Fantasy enthusiast not yet into Magic, there's plenty to be excited about. Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the FF7 Remake series, hinted that the design of Sephiroth on one of these cards holds a mysterious significance, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this exciting collaboration.
