FF7 Remake Part 3: Release Date Still Under Wraps

While Square Enix remains tight-lipped about the release date, Hamaguchi offered a positive update during a January 23, 2025 interview with Famitsu. Development, which began alongside FF7 Rebirth, is progressing well, with a key build completed by the end of 2024 solidifying the game's direction. Kitase also expressed satisfaction with the completed story, hinting at a satisfying conclusion for fans.

Timed Exclusivity Expected

A March 6, 2024 report from the Washington Post suggests PlayStation secured timed exclusivity for the entire FF7 Remake trilogy. Following the pattern of previous releases, FF7 Remake Part 3 will likely launch exclusively on PS5 for a period before arriving on other platforms. FF7 Remake had a one-year exclusivity, Intergrade six months, and Rebirth launched on PC on January 23, 2025, after its PS5 exclusivity.

Square Enix's Multi-Platform Shift

Despite the FF7 Remake series' success, Square Enix's financial results (March 31, 2024) revealed declining HD title sales. The company plans to adopt a more aggressive multi-platform strategy, expanding to Nintendo, Xbox, and PC platforms.
