How to Make Fever Tonic in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In "Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2," Hans's main quest, "For Whom the Bell Tolls," requires crafting a Fever Tonic to aid Thomas. This guide details acquiring the recipe and brewing the tonic within Trosky Castle.

Acquiring the Fever Tonic Recipe:

Access to the Surgeon's Workshop, containing the recipe, can be gained through stealth or diplomacy. Stealthily entering the workshop is one option. Alternatively, convince the chamberlain you can create a digestive potion for his stomach ailment. Successfully completing this persuasion mini-game grants access. If persuasion fails, complete the "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest objectives up to delivering the horseshoe. Then, speak with Cook Fanka at the forge; offering to help with her locked chest leads you to the noble's kitchen and the ailing chamberlain. Successfully persuading him again provides workshop access. If all else fails, steal food, leave the kitchen, and use a different entrance to the kitchen (guarded), bribing the guard with the stolen food for passage. Sneak upstairs to locate the Surgeon's Workshop. The Physician's journal, containing the recipe, is on the bookshelf.

Brewing the Fever Tonic:

The necessary herbs are already at the surgeon's station. Follow these steps:

  1. Pour wine into the cauldron.
  2. Add 3 handfuls of Feverfew.
  3. Lower the heat and boil for 2 turns of the sandglass.
  4. Grind a handful of Elderberry Leaves.
  5. Add the ground Elderberry Leaves.
  6. Add 2 handfuls of Ginger.
  7. Obtain a phial from the bottom-left shelf.
  8. Distill the tonic using the Still.

Additional herbs are available in the chest if needed.

Completing the Quest:

After crafting the Fever Tonic (and optionally, the digestive potion), locate Thomas. If you have the chamberlain's trust, return to him with both potions. Otherwise, use the noble's kitchen to reach the chapel and find Thomas and his sister, Adele. Speak with Adele to conclude the quest.
