Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

The classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*, has just received a significant free update on Android, thanks to Feral Interactive's Imperium Update. If you've been enjoying this epic title since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat with a host of gameplay tweaks, control enhancements, and quality-of-life features. Excitingly, this update will also roll out to the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update introduces some of the best features from Feral's more recent mobile titles, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Players can now enjoy three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection, which enhance unit command and battle precision.

With the new control system, you can effortlessly move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths. Positioning Mode allows for fine-tuning unit placements with ease, while the Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups through a collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode offers the flexibility for ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands.

A standout feature is the Command Slowdown, which automatically reduces game speed during the issuance of complex orders, making strategic planning more manageable. Additionally, for the first time, keyboard and mouse support has been introduced for Android and iPad users, enhancing the gaming experience further.

The minimap in *ROME: Total War* has been revamped to mirror the intuitive design from *MEDIEVAL II*, featuring smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button also allows for a quick return to the default view, streamlining gameplay.

The Imperium Update is now available for download on the Google Play Store for all *ROME: Total War* Android players. Don't miss out on the upcoming updates for Barbarian Invasion and Alexander, set to launch next week.
