Farlight Games Unveils Ace Trainer in Soft Launch for Select Regions

Author:Kristen Update:Apr 21,2025

Farlight had a remarkable 2024, continuing their successful collaboration with Lilith Games to bring the much-anticipated idle RPG, AFK Journey, to mobile platforms. As we step into 2025, Farlight isn't slowing down, with their latest venture, Ace Trainer, already making waves during its soft launch in regions such as South Korea and the US.

So, what exactly is Ace Trainer? Think of it as a delightful nod to Pokémon, where you'll find yourself collecting, training, and leveling up fantastical creatures to battle on your behalf. But Farlight adds a unique twist inspired by games like Palworld, transforming the traditional turn-based battles into a more dynamic tower defense experience against hordes of zombies.

Adding to the mix, Ace Trainer incorporates pinball mechanics, allowing you to shoot and collect resources, creating a truly eclectic gameplay experience. While a global release might not be imminent, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight's high hopes for this innovative title.

Ace Trainer, a game from Farlight, and a picture of a menu showing lots of pokemon-esque creaturesThe phrase "everything and the kitchen sink" aptly describes Ace Trainer. From what we've seen so far, it's an ambitious blend of PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball elements. While I'm based in the UK and haven't yet had the chance to play it, the concept is intriguing, albeit slightly overwhelming.

Despite my initial skepticism, I recognize the appeal of this multifaceted approach. These are all highly popular elements in today's gaming landscape, but the challenge will be whether Ace Trainer can maintain player interest over the long haul.
