Explore Spider-Woman's Origins in New Marvel Contest of Champions Update

Marvel Contest of Champions is gearing up for an action-packed April, introducing the highly anticipated champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, Kabam is set to introduce another champion with a vastly different persona.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, born as Jessica Drew, faced a dire situation as a child when she was exposed to uranium near her home. In an attempt to save her, her father, a brilliant geneticist, conducted an experimental procedure, injecting her with a blend of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the initial adverse effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, eventually taking on the mantle of Spider-Woman. Players can add this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her debut, another champion, Lumatrix, will join the fray on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins created by the Founders, Lumatrix is equipped with dazzling light-based powers designed for infiltration and assassination.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, titled "Inquisition," delves into a gripping storyline where Carina suffers severe injuries after a confrontation with Ouroborus forces. Meanwhile, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four amidst the spreading corruption of Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges to challenge the heroes.

A new Event Quest, "Spy Games," kicks off on April 9th and runs through May 7th. Black Widow enlists Spider-Woman to unravel the mysteries surrounding the enigmatic Eidols.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with "Dark Bounties," placing bounties on various champions. Players must track these champions to claim their rewards.

The "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" also makes a comeback, challenging players to assemble their strongest Saga champions to battle for Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
