"The Exit 8: 3D Liminal Spaces Walking Simulator Now on Android!"

The Exit 8 has recently launched on Android, offering a unique blend of elements that captivate players. Developed by Kotake Create and published by Playism, this game is available for $3.99. It's not just another walking simulator; it's an eerie adventure that challenges you with every step you take.

A Creepy Walking Adventure

In The Exit 8, you find yourself navigating through an endless underground passageway reminiscent of a Japanese metro station. You're caught in a loop where the tiles, lights, posters, and even the solitary man walking towards you repeat endlessly. The challenge lies in spotting anomalies—perhaps a poster with a different graphic, lights flickering more than usual, or even a river of blood where the floor should be. The core mechanic revolves around noticing these subtle changes and reacting swiftly.

If you spot something unusual, turn back. If not, keep moving. Your objective is to reach the eighth exit without faltering. This means correctly identifying and reacting to eight consecutive anomalies. Fail, and you'll have to start over.

The Exit 8 Lets You Soak in a Surreal, Unsettling Atmosphere

The game's design draws inspiration from the concept of liminal spaces and the Backrooms. The setting mirrors real Japanese metro stations, such as Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station in Tokyo, capturing the claustrophobic feel and repetitive architecture. The Exit 8 immerses you in an environment where you must actively engage with your surroundings, searching for the slightest details that might indicate danger or a shift in reality. This constant questioning of your memory and perception makes each playthrough uniquely unsettling.

Originally released for PC in November 2023, The Exit 8 took about nine months to develop. It garnered 1.4 million downloads worldwide on Steam upon release. Now available on mobile, you can download it from the Google Play Store.
