Elden Ring: Nightreign will only be tested on consoles

FromSoftware's upcoming title will initially only be accessible to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Early access registration begins January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.

Bandai Namco has yet to explain the exclusion of PC players from this initial test phase. However, those selected for console testing will enjoy exclusive early gameplay before the official launch.

Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the story from the first game, offering new challenges within a dark and ominous setting. While console gamers get a head start, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.

A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game message feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified that the approximately forty-minute play sessions don't allow sufficient time for message interaction.

"The messaging feature has been removed due to the limited playtime of approximately forty minutes per session, making it impractical to send or read messages."
