The production team includes Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich from DNA Films, alongside George R. R. Martin, the creator of A Song of Ice and Fire, and Vince Gerardis, a co-executive producer of Game of Thrones. While it's unclear if Hidetaka Miyazaki, the president of FromSoftware and director of Elden Ring, will be involved, the project is generating significant buzz. Elden Ring Coming Off Strong This 2025

While the live-action film might still be a ways off, the Elden Ring video game franchise continues to thrive with new releases in 2025. Since its debut in 2022, Elden Ring has solidified its place as one of the most beloved games ever, selling over 13.4 million copies in just five weeks. By April 2025, the game celebrated reaching a staggering 30 million copies sold worldwide, as shared by the official Elden Ring account on X (formerly Twitter). It has also earned over 324 Game of the Year awards, making it one of the most decorated titles in video game history. The 2024 DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, has continued this trend of success.

FromSoftware is set to expand the Elden Ring universe even further in 2025 with two exciting releases. The first, Elden Ring Nightreign, is a co-op action game set in the realm of Limveld. Players will assume the roles of Nightfarers, tasked with thwarting the rise of the Nightlord. This spinoff will retain elements of the original game but offer a fresh multiplayer experience, launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 30th.

Additionally, the Elden Ring Tarnished Edition will be available for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This comprehensive edition includes the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, four new armor sets, and a customization feature for three variants of Torrent the Spectral Steed.
