Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Demo Available Today

Author:Kristen Update:Feb 20,2025

A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, launches today! Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam at 7 AM Pacific Time, this demo offers a taste of the full game's unique blend of pirate adventure and Yakuza action.

The demo, announced via X/Twitter, allows players to jump ahead to specific areas, including parts of Honolulu and Madlantis, normally inaccessible early in the main game. This means that progress likely won't carry over to the full release.

Key features of the demo include:

  • Freeroam exploration of Honolulu and Madlantis.
  • Access to both Mad Dog and Sea Dog fighting styles.
  • Battles against powerful bounty enemies.
  • Four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum.
  • New character customization options.
  • Karaoke featuring three songs.

The full game, releasing February 21st on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, will follow amnesiac Goro Majima's pirate escapades in Hawaii. The October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer highlighted ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at deeper connections to the main series. Expect a longer playtime than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, with an estimated 15-18 hour story. A Kiryu Kazuma costume is available as an incentive for email sign-ups or Sega reward program participation. Note that the demo is not available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
