This enhanced version of the 2010 Wii classic delivers a challenging and inventive 2D side-scrolling platforming experience. Only the standard edition is available, but it includes everything you need. Note that Amazon pre-orders haven't been available for recent Switch releases, so don't expect it there.

What is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD?

This isn't the first re-release. Following its 2010 Wii debut, Nintendo ported it to the 3DS in 2013, adding eight exclusive levels. This HD version includes all original levels plus the additional 3DS content.

The game is notoriously challenging. However, this release offers both the original difficulty and an easier mode (from the 3DS version) with extra hearts and assistance.

Expect classic platforming action: leaping across gaps, vine swinging, barrel blasting, banana collecting, and more. Two-player couch co-op is also available with Diddy Kong.
