Author:Kristen Update:May 02,2025

In the past decade, the dream of playing online across different platforms has become a standard feature in many games, including *Call of Duty*. While crossplay has united the *Call of Duty* community, it's not without its challenges. If you're looking to disable crossplay in *Black Ops 6*, here's what you need to know.

Should You Disable Crossplay in Black Ops 6? Answered

Disabling crossplay in *Black Ops 6* comes with its pros and cons. The primary reason players opt to turn off crossplay is to level the playing field, ensuring a more balanced and fair gaming experience. Console players on Xbox and PlayStation often prefer to avoid competing against PC players, who use a mouse and keyboard setup. The precision of aiming with a mouse gives PC players an edge over those using controllers. Additionally, PC players might have easier access to mods and cheats, despite *Call of Duty*'s Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. Players of *Black Ops 6* and *Warzone* have reported encountering hackers and cheaters, and disabling crossplay could theoretically reduce these encounters.

However, there's a significant drawback to disabling crossplay in *Call of Duty*: it shrinks the player pool available for matchmaking. This can lead to longer wait times for finding matches and potentially poorer connections between players. From our experience, disabling crossplay often results in extended matchmaking times and less optimal lobby connections.
