Diablo 4 Season 7: Full Progression Guide

Halloween may have passed, but the witching season is in full swing within the dark realms of *Diablo 4*. To ensure you're making the most of *Diablo 4* Season 7, here's a comprehensive progression guide to help you level up swiftly and harness the full power of the new season.

Table of Contents

  • Get Your Pet
  • Grab Your Mercenaries
  • Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up
  • Unlock Your Class Power
  • Headhunt Zones
  • Witchcraft Powers
  • Rootholds
  • Occult Gems
  • Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Get Your Pet

Right off the bat, as you enter *Diablo 4* Season 7, head to the nearest town with a Wardrobe to claim your pet. Although pets don't participate in combat, they're invaluable for automatically collecting gold and materials. This feature significantly reduces the time spent scavenging, allowing you to focus on the thrill of battle and the excitement of looting.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, make your way to the Den to recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can benefit from having two Mercenaries by their side, making leveling and combat more manageable. Building Rapport with them also unlocks additional rewards, enhancing your gameplay experience.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Begin on Normal difficulty and follow the new seasonal questline, identified by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to Season 7's mechanics, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors, and Witch powers. Though not overly long, it includes puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also your fastest route to level 60; keep farming Headhunt zone bosses, collecting Favors, and upgrading your Witch powers.

Unlock Your Class Power

A useful quality-of-life update means you no longer need to complete class-specific priority quests if you've done so on a previous character. However, you must log into the Eternal realm with that character first. For example, if you're playing a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a previously created Rogue who has completed the quests. Then, when you start your new Season 7 Rogue, your class power will unlock automatically upon reaching the necessary level.

Headhunt Zones

While navigating Headhunt zones, prioritize completing Whispers. With four zones active at any time, focus on the smaller, denser ones for higher enemy concentrations and faster mob farming. Key Whisper quests to tackle are 'Fugitive' and 'Shepherd.' 'Shepherd' involves simple animal escort missions, while 'Fugitive' requires you to recover a head or destroy a husk by defeating Elites and interacting with roots. Turn in your Grim Favors at the Tree of Whispers or with the Raven of the Tree, found in each Headhunt zone, for caches once you reach 10 Favors.

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to purchase and upgrade your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, obtained from killing Rot enemies. While these powers are inexpensive to acquire, upgrading them is costly. Prioritize those that offer direct damage boosts for significant passive damage increases. Some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you can encounter in regular and Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds on Torment 1 difficulty. Enhance your chances of finding a Forgotten Altar by consuming a Draught of Whispers.

Rootholds

Rootholds, a new dungeon type introduced in Season 7, are accessible by using a Whispering Wood, earned through Whispers and Silent Chests. These dungeons offer a rogue-lite experience with negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you progress, open Exposed Roots for loot, with the modifiers influencing the number and quality of these roots. For the best Ancestral loot, save your Roothold keys until you reach Torment 1 difficulty.

Occult Gems

Late in the game, you can craft Occult Gems with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems, which slot into your jewelry, outperform regular gems but are costly to craft, requiring Restless Rot and Heads. Heads drop from Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones, with the Draught of Whispers increasing your chances of obtaining them.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Don't forget to incorporate Pits and Nightmare Dungeons into your routine. Nightmare Dungeons provide Glyphs, while Pits are essential for leveling them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
