The post emphasized, "We've been taking the necessary steps to take this fraudulent messaging down. The Witcher 4 was unveiled at the Game Awards in December 2024, with a trailer spotlighting the new protagonist, Ciri. This announcement sparked significant discussion within the gaming community, as previous games centered around Geralt.

Following the reveal, VGC interviewed The Witcher 4 Narrative Director Phillipp Weber about the community's reaction to Ciri's role as the lead. Weber, who also cherished Geralt's character, addressed fans' concerns, saying, "The best thing that we can do, and I think this is really our goal, is to prove that with Ciri, we can do a lot of interesting things so we can really make it worth it because this decision to have Ciri as a protagonist wasn’t made yesterday, we started making this a very long time ago."

The Witcher 4 Executive Producer, Małgorzata Mitręga, expressed appreciation for the support of their decision to feature Ciri as the lead, stating, "Everyone has the right to have an opinion, and we do believe it comes from the passion for our games and I think the best answer for that will be the game itself when the game is released."

According to the developers, The Witcher 4 aims to be the most ambitious installment in the series, introducing new regions and monsters. The game is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though no specific release date has been announced.
