Destiny: Rising releases new character trailer for Gwynn ahead of global launch

Destiny: Rising Unveils Latest Character Trailer for Gwynn

• Gwynn, a scythe-wielding goth, is ideal for frontline CQC players
• Ahead of its August 28th launch, Destiny: Rising has surpassed 10 million pre-registrations and promises to be a major release

Given that the Destiny franchise heavily influenced the multiplayer shooter genre throughout the 2010s, it may seem surprising that we are only now seeing its arrival on mobile devices. However, that time has come: you will soon be able to play Destiny: Rising starting August 28th, thanks to a brand-new character trailer showcasing Gwynn.

Gwynn is a stylish and substantive goth who wields a scythe, positioned as the premier close-range specialist in Destiny: Rising. Her kit emphasizes sustainability, allowing her to thrive in the heat of battle with high survivability while minimizing reliance on support characters and maximizing damage output.

Additionally, Destiny: Rising has surpassed 10 million pre-registrations, unlocking The Exotic Ornament. Combined with Gwynn's debut at global launch, it is clear that the game aims to deliver a feature-rich experience right from day one.

With Destiny having somewhat faded from the public consciousness recently, Destiny: Rising could be exactly what the franchise needs to regain momentum. The hardcore sci-fantasy shooter gameplay of Destiny always felt suited for mobile platforms, so it is surprising that this adaptation took so long.

The shift toward a more hero-focused shooter style (epitomized by Gwynn) might make original Destiny die-hards skeptical. However, as our own Will Quick noted in his preview of Destiny: Rising, the game is poised to meet and even exceed player expectations.
