Destiny Child Goes Idle: Rebirth as Mobile RPG Announced

Destiny Child is reborn! Originally launched in 2016 and archived in September 2023, this beloved title is making a triumphant return, courtesy of Com2uS, taking over development from ShiftUp.

A Fresh Start?

Com2uS and ShiftUp have partnered to create a completely new Destiny Child experience—an idle RPG! Development is spearheaded by Com2uS's Tiki Taka Studio, known for their work on the tactical RPG, Arcana Tactics.

This isn't just a re-release; it's a reimagining. While retaining the charm of the original's 2D art and emotional core, Com2uS will introduce fresh gameplay mechanics.

Remember the Memorial?

Destiny Child's initial launch captivated players with its cute characters and real-time combat. Following its closure after almost seven years, ShiftUp released a memorial version, allowing players a final glimpse.

While not a fully functional game, the memorial app lets you revisit the stunning character artwork and fondly remember your Childs. Access requires verification using your pre-shutdown account data, meaning only original players can access it.

It's a nostalgic trip down memory lane, preserving the Childs and their classes, even without the battles. If you're eligible, download it from the Google Play Store and enjoy the art—at least until the new game arrives!
