Gaming insider Jez Corden, in a recent Xbox Two podcast, projected a 2026 release for State of Decay 3. While Undead Labs initially aimed for a 2025 launch, Corden suggests an early 2026 debut is now more likely.

Corden indicated the game's development is further along than publicly perceived, though he offered no specifics. This news may disappoint fans, although previous speculation pointed to a 2027 release, making a 2026 window relatively positive.

June's trailer showcased intense zombie shootouts and Mad Max-style vehicular combat in a post-apocalyptic setting. The narrative will focus on human survivors establishing and defending settlements years after the apocalypse.

State of Decay 3 is slated for PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The last entry in the series launched in 2018.
