The Darkside Detective Franchise Releases New Installment

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing a string of titles. We recently covered their deck-building game, Zoeti, and now we're looking at their puzzle game, The Darkside Detective, along with its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available now!).

What's Brewing in Twin Lakes?

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-shrouded night in the quirky town of Twin Lakes, where the strange, supernatural, and downright absurd are commonplace. Meet Detective Francis McQueen and his perpetually amiable (though occasionally clueless) partner, Officer Patrick Dooley.

Together, they form the Darkside Division, a perpetually underfunded branch of the Twin Lakes Police Department. You'll help them solve nine quirky cases, delving into the humorous and bizarre world of The Darkside Detective and its equally witty sequel.

These point-and-click adventures offer a diverse range of challenges, from time-travel mysteries and flesh-hungry tentacles to carnival secrets and mafia zombies. See the trailer below!

The game is a delightful homage to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. The cases themselves boast intriguing titles: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
