Dark & Darker Mobile could be getting a name change from Krafton

Author:Kristen Update:Mar 19,2025

Krafton's termination of its agreement with Ironmace Studio will result in a name change for Dark and Darker Mobile. While Krafton denies any connection to the recent $6 million lawsuit ruling against Ironmace by Nexon, the timing is undeniably significant. The lawsuit centers on allegations that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, used trade secrets from a cancelled Nexon project (codenamed P3) to develop Dark and Darker.

Despite the controversy, the mobile game's global launch remains on schedule. Krafton will release the game independently, effectively severing ties with Ironmace. This decision, while potentially impacting Ironmace, ironically opens the door for other similar games to enter the market.

The situation presents a curious irony: Ironmace initially sued for copyright infringement, yet Krafton appears poised to continue development under a new name, seemingly unaffected by the legal fallout.

While the name change and altered development path are significant, players anticipating Dark and Darker Mobile can remain optimistic about the game's release. We will provide updates should any changes to the launch schedule or further developments occur. We hope the final product retains the high quality we lauded in our previous review.
