Complete Straw Hat Side Quest in KCD2: A Guide

Before you can embark on “Under the Straw Hat,” you must first initiate the side quest “In Vino Veritas,” which takes place in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, head to the west side of the city where you'll find Casper Rudolf offering free samples of his wine. He's seeking information to enhance his wine production.

You have two paths to gather the necessary knowledge: you can either go directly to Havel and impress him with your wine expertise, or retrieve Casper’s book from Adleta and study it to bolster your understanding of wine. If you choose to meet Havel directly, ensure you're dressed in fine attire and are clean. During your conversation with Havel, select “Germany,” “Steinberger,” and “It’s missing ginger” as your responses—these are crucial to obtaining the information you need. Once you've gathered the intel, return to Casper and share your findings.

Access the Vineyard

With the information from Havel, Casper now requires you to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid wandering into the fields, as it constitutes trespassing. Instead, follow the main road into the vineyard and speak to the recruiter, who will grant you the “Under the Straw Hat” side quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Continue along the road, passing a guard at the estate's entrance, until you find Jerome seated on a bench. Inform Jerome that you've been instructed to report there, and he'll brief you on working at the vineyard.

Working at the Vineyard

Your job at the vineyard commences the following day. After spending the night at an inn or another resting spot, return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn your pay, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and gather plants like Thistle that grow around the vines. Alternatively, you can bypass these tasks and head directly to the wine cellar to find the secret incense.

The wine cellar is located in the main building, downstairs from where you met Jerome. Accessing it involves either using a lockpick or stealing the keys from Jerome, as these areas remain restricted even to vineyard workers. Inside the cellar, locate a chest and retrieve all the Sulphur Wicks within it, completing the main objective of the quest. For an increased reward, you can also collect seedlings for Casper. From the main building's entrance, head straight across to another door to find the seedlings. Be swift, as this is another trespassing zone.

If you opt to perform your work duties, report to Jerome at the end of the day to collect your pay. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if collected, the seedlings.

By completing these steps, you'll successfully finish both “Under the Straw Hat” and “In Vino Veritas” in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, allowing you to progress to other intriguing side quests such as “Master Schindel’s Toys.”
